In Australia there is overwhelming community agreement that we need to modernise our approach and find alternatives to criminal punishment for people who possess small amounts of drugs for personal use.

The current laws drive people away from getting treatment and support. Experience from around the world shows our laws are out of touch with the evidence, ineffective and expensive.

The Fair Treatment campaign was formed by the Uniting Church NSW/ACT and Uniting, and now includes more than 65 partner organisations.

We all want to live in a world where  everyone is treated with dignity and respect, including people who use drugs.

To achieve this we need increase access to treatment services, especially in rural and regional areas, and introduce a compassionate, health-based response to drug dependency.

Stand with us and together we can make this a reality. Click here to Sign the Pledge
